SVS wins Best Video in the 2013 Visualization Challenge

A jury appointed by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Science magazine has selected “Excerpt from Dynamic Earth” as the winner of the 2013 NSF International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge for the Video category.

This animation was created by NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio (SVS) and is the available at
http://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/vis/a010000/a011000/a011003/Dynamic-Earth-Liam_youtube_hq.mov.
It will be highlighted in the February 2014 special section of Science and will be hosted on ScienceMag.org and NSF.gov.

To produce the video, the SVS team used a combination of real satellite data and a variety of state-of-the-art computer models created on IT equipment managed under the SESDA contract. More information is available at:
